She was ready to throw the book across the room and that was saying something. With a frustrated huff she stood up and stretched.
While her hellren was gone for the week to the colony, she had decided to do some research.
And had hit a friggin' brick wall.
She knew that Rehv's dopamine was becoming less and less effective and effective over a shorter period of time. Increasing the dose would only put off the inevitable.
Running her hands through her hair she picked up her phone.
*txt*Jane? have you got a bit? I need some help and I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. I'm in the library.. thanks ~E

She had just left the kitchen with a cup of hot chocolate that Fritz had made her, no matter her insistent tellings that she enjoyed doing such things. "Lady Jane, Sire Vishous would not be pleased if I just sat around and fiddled with my fingers while you did such."
Smiling over and over as he had kept repeating this while she tried to insert herself in the helping. Head doggen that he was, was just as skilled in prevention of the household to meddle in tasks that he sought them never to do as she was in an operating room. Laughing and laughing, she shook her head as she walked with the piping hot cup of Coco.
Her phone buzzed and she almost spilled the cup on her. Grabbing it out of her coat pocket, she saw it was from Ehlena. Hoping everything was alright, the quick read and she replied one handed as she walked. Txt:: Just around the corner. ::Snd.
No sooner did she hit send, then she turned the corner of the huge library that always took her breath away. "Hey hun, whats going on?"

Her eyes flipped up to Jane's and she smiled a bit.
"Rehvenge's dopamine levels aren't holding like they should or for as long as they should for the amount that he's having to take while he's here. I am trying to find something that could either help the dopamine or replace it all together but everything I've read is how it affects human neurology, not a damn thing about vampires much less vampires that are half symphath. Do you have ANY idea where I could start? Or Start over rather?" she asked plopping down on the sofa with a huff.

Walking over to the couch, she sits across from Ehlena and sits her cup down on the table beside the couch. Turning back around, she took her hand in hers.
"How long has it been since Rehvenge has been needing more and more to counteract his sympath side? The aspect of what affects the vampire makeup isn't much different them the human in most regards. We just have to attain the proper dosage allotted. E, have you researched the predecessors of dopamine?"
Silly question she knew but still had to ask. The woman was thorough as she was and them some. Especially when it came to her hellren. "You know immediately I think of phenylethylamine. Its a start right."

Looking down at their hands she nodded.
"I looked at L-Dopa and a few others but I didn't want to go that way. I want to try a supplement before we try a full replacement. That very well might cause more problems than it's worth. And as delicate as his balance needs to be to do what he does.. yeah I'd rather not fool around with that. One slip and he's a goner with his Brethren," she said.

"Of course not. His health and safety are nothing to take a chance on."
She furrowed her brows, a pure signal that she was going into deep thought here. She knew Rehv's sympath side held to much of a difference in genetics so this definately called for precision and then more precision still. With her free hand, she began to tap her chin in thought.
"What if we just accent his dopamine levels? Stimulate the dopamine as if its a new drug introduced to his system. Its almost like chocolate. It gives the body a boost of what is already in it."

Her eyes widened. "You know that can be done with foods like avocados and almonds and dairy.. maybe something like phenylethylamine... it might sensitize his skin but that could be a good thing in the long run...as a piggy back to his dopamine shot. Not a good oral drug because it gets broken down too quickly to be effective. Damn it I wish we could test this before we gave it to him. I.. Virgin in the Fade.. you know you could write this up and submit it to some medical journal," she smiled and chuckled.

Laughed and sat back against the couch. "No go for any of the prominant journels. We could create our own and become the world leaders of medical exploits YOU would never believe."
Her mind was still wrapping around this possibility. Then she paused and looked like a deer trapped in the headlights of an oncoming car at midnight on a deserted road. "Why can't we? Ehlena, his blood would show the enhancements, would it not? If he would give you a sample for us to work with, why could we not at least see the internal results of the mixture. Sure it would not give us a true physical reaction but why not start there."

She blinked and froze too.
"You know I bet I could at least approach him that way first. At least he won't feel like a complete guinea pig and we can monitor it for any drastic changes before he gets a full dose. You are flipping brilliant! We could get a level or an idea of one and start there.. give him that and keep an eye on him then bump up the dose as we go until we hit a therapeutic level that he can work with. Holy schnikes this might just work!"

How she loved to see her sisters happy and of course her geneticist side would be ecstatic to get started on anything that would help any of her family be stronger.
"Wasn't me. You just needed a fresh pair of eyes or in this sense, a fresh mind to help you access what you already knew."

She shook her head and snorted. "You know one of these days I might just have to go back to school and get my PA. Thank you Jane. I really appreciate it. Now if I could just get my hellren home and away from his "job" I'll approach him about it and see what he says. All the research in the the world won't help if he won't agree," she said hugging Jane tightly. "Next hot cocoa run is on me," she chuckled as she picked up her Ipad and made some notes quickly. "I can't believe I didn't see this," she sighed.

Hugging Ehlena, she busted out laughing.
"Your more than welcome. You should see me sometimes. I'll tell Vishous about something I've been studying for days and bam, he shows me one difference of my line of thinking and there is the answer. Could squeeze him so tight in glee and love that I would loose feeling in all of me and he probably would too."
Standing up, she watched as Ehlena got lost again in her notes and she smiled. "Come and find me once you speak to your hellren and until then, I will begin some more research on this."

Looking back up she smiled.
"You got it. Thank you again." she said with a genuine smile as she pulled out her phone to text Rehvenge.
