He rubbed his forehead with his fingers, "Yes. I understand its the week of Thanksgiving. Yes,I know. But I simply want a suite. A fully set up suite. With a kitchen."
The woman on the other end, "I understand. But the glymera's family's are traveling for the fall, and all the rentals we have are taken. I would love to accommodate you Brother Tohrment, but all our properties are taken. Do you know longer own your residence?"
"No. I sold it. A year ago."
The glymera assistant sighed, "If we have a cancellation, I will let you know. My apologies. Please tell his Majesty that we did try."
He hissed and disconnected the call. Tapping his fingers on the desk, frowned as he looked at the Caldwell Daily. The human newspaper in which he had delivered to a drop spot nightly. It was a lo-jack way of watching the human police beat and other stories that may have undercurrent issues to the vampire race.
Vishous gave him hell for it, and it got him many of the "Old Man" references they gave him constantly. No matter. Didn't phase him. Old implied he had lived through much. Which was, indeed true. Wise as well.
Opening its pages, found the classified ads and went to rentals. Fine. He had been living in the open before, what harm would a week do.
It was just something he wanted.
And he liked, feeding that need.

Entering the tunnel that led down to the TC, she passed Tohr's office and paused, not expecting anyone to be down here. Well, other than her hellren. It was rather early as the shutters were not up for the day.
Poking her head into his office, she smiled. 'You're up early. Have you seen Zsadist, by chance?"

He grabbed the newspaper, and it crumbled as he tried to shove it in his desk drawer, "Your hellren? I believe I heard him destroying yet another heavy bag in the work out."
He gave her a smile, "And hello. My apologies."

"Ah, thank you!" She glanced down the hall toward the gym then turned back to Tohrment. Leaning against the doorframe, she crossed her arms and raised a brow at the crumbled up newspaper he shoved in his drawer. "Did you read something that upset you?"

He let out a grumbled breath and shrugged, "No. I was just distracted. I read" looked over at the shoved newspaper and closed the drawer, "I check it daily. For anything new. For something in the human race, to indicate something that may have to do with ours."
He tilted his head, "Its old-fashioned, yes. Of that I am aware. But its my routine." He felt a bit shamed for how he had responded when she walked up. "Speaking about new. Anything new with you?"

A smile crossed her face. "It's not old fashioned if newspapers are still in business. I see nothing wrong with it. I still prefer reading paper back books over e-books." Shrugged. "Nothing really new. I've just started planning some of the up coming events. I stopped by the Mask a couple nights ago to ask for some donations." Pushed off the doorway. "Which reminds me, Rehv has a couple new employee's there. I guess they are new to the area. They offered to help. They seem like decent males. I figure we could use the help and it might help them get to know some people in the area. What do you think?"

Brow went up at that news. While the Brotherhood had no say so in the running and management of the Iron Mask Club, they still had a vested interest in what occurred there.
"New males? From?" He went to ask more and stopped. The Reverend would have made sure the males checked out. But he was suspicious by nature, and was trying to do better at keeping that on a very tight leash. "I'm sure they are of worth of employment."
He looked down, as if it was no issue, "What are their names?" Glanced up at Bella, "And you have met them? True?"

She nodded. 'I did. So has Ehlena. They are brothers." Thought for a moment, trying to remember their names. "Zayden and Zander I believe. I'm not sure I caught their last name." Shook her head. "I'm also not sure where they are from. They have accents. Either English or Scottish."

Snorted "Old country then." He frowned, "I'm sure they are not a problem." He looked back down and said low, "Did they say why they were here."
As soon as he said it, he waved a hand in the air, "Forget it. I'm sure its fine." Autumn was trying to instill in him a manner of not thinking everything was bad. Like her working at Safe Place. He was trying and was surprised he hadn't broken out in fucking hives by now.

Laughed and shook her head. 'No, they didn't say. One seemed to just want to go about doing his job and the other was very friendly and respectful. I think they are just trying to find their way in a new city. Which is not an easy thing to do. Especially in a city like this." Raised a brow. "You know, you could always pop in at the Mask and see for yourself though."

His navy gaze went to hers and a smile tilted his lips, "I could. If I was worried." Paused, "But if I happened to just stop by there on patrol, that would not be an indicator of worry true?"

She smiled. "True." Hearing the impact on a heavy bag then the hiss of sand pouring onto the floor, echo down the hall, she winced and glanced back toward the gym. Sighing, she turned back toward Tohrment. "Anyway, I'll let you get back to your reading. I'm going to see if I can safe at least one heavy bag from my hellren.'
With a wave, she turned and headed down to the gym.
