He checked the clips on a dozen service glocks and eyes the sights on each one. A dozen paper villian targets were hung almost 30 feet away as well as ear protection and gloves.
Standing back, threw out his arm and fired more than a clip's worth of shots without hesitation and turned, all drill sergent ready, arms crossed and face hard.
They may be females. But a gun, and a bullet didn't give a shit. Both would kill regardless to who pulled the trigger.

She was a little---okay, maybe more than a little---intimidated by Tohrment but she didn't show it. She remained serene as she watched him, ready to learn, to listen and to obey.

Smiled and followed the Brother to the firing range handing over her case for him to look at her weapon. "Just thought you might want to check it over before I load it. If you need me to qualify with one of these," nods to the array on the table," I'd be more than happy to," she said as she picked up ear protection.

Giving Phury a nod, she followed Tohrment and the other females to the area where they would be learning to shoot. She was excited and nervous at the same time. She knew that Tohrment would allow no harm to come of them, but the thought of even touching something so powerful while her hellren wasn't near was intimidating, scary.
She walked behind Ehlena and followed her lead, picking up the bright orange earplugs and sticking them in her ears.

Nodded to each keeping his stance. Looked down at Ehlena's weapon and shook his head, "No outside weapons allowed until I decide you deserve free use of the range with such." Places a service glock in her palm.
"Trainees. Listen up. I will say this once and only once. Weapons kill. Bullets kill. The whole bullshit about bullets don't kill, people do, is just that bullshit. A gun can be a weapon to defend or a weapon to destroy."
He stood next to Mary and straight armed her weapon, "A gun can kill you. It can either send a bullet crashing through your skin, your muscle and your bone to kill you." Fired a shot and it hit perfect head shot on the paper target, "Or it can be used to beat the same matter that bullet could have taken out." He swallowed and closed his eyes as he spun the pistol back to Mary.
Walked up next to Cormia and picked up her service pistol, "A bullet is projected by force. The hammer hits, the bullet is exploded out of the barrel. That force must go somewhere, and that will be you. So, pick up your weapons Trainee's."
He walked behind them, "Your weapon is an extension of you. Your might, your power, your control. Make it so. But it is a partner, a very deadly one that you must respect. But your gun could care less. It has no respect. It has no honor, its sole purpose is to kill and maim and destroy. It can and will be turned against you. That is why you cannot rely on a gun alone.
It is simply an extension of the real weapon."
Stopped, "And that Trainees. Is you."
"Now, lets begin. Your stance should be relaxed. Let the impact of the shot flow through you. Throughout your body. Do not lock your elbow, this will cause damage. Place your finger on the trigger, loosely. Remove the safety, orange tipped slide on the left. Then eye your target through the sight on the tip. And then, learn your new extension. It can save you. As long as you remember, who the real weapon is."
Walked behind them and spun his own special designed glock on his finger as he watched them.

Breathed slowly, focusing on Tohr's voice and the weapon in her hands, listening carefully to his instruction as she aimed according to his directions.

She held the gun in her hand and surprised herself by realizing she was actually nervous about this. Frowning, she steadied herself. She was determined to do this, she wouldn't fail.. Someday, a life -perhaps her own- would be on the edge, and the skills she learned today could mean the difference between death and life.
She relaxed her body as she studied which would now become an extension of her arm, like her hands, like her fingers.
She familiarized herself with the weight of the gun, with its form and then she placed her finger on the trigger. At first, she was tense but then she loosened as Torhment had said.
She removed the safety and then directed her gaze toward the target through the sight on the tip. It took her a long time to pull the trigger and when she finally did, she missed her target. The strenght of the impact caught her by surprise and made her jump a little.
She recovered quickly and went for a second shot.
Life was about keep trying.

Wrapping her hands around the grips, she brought the weapon up, elbows relaxed f__t solid. Looking down the barrel with both eyes open she squeezed the trigger smoothly and let her elbows bend slightly with the re-coil of the weapon. It was a bit heavier than what she was accustomed to but being accustomed wouldn't save her life. She needed to know how to handle what ever she had her hands on whether it was a small revolver or a sniper rifle or a pea shooter. A broad range of skills was what was called for.
Her first shot pulled a bit out of the kill zone, but her second shot was dead on.
Rolling her shoulders, she took another deep breath, sighted and shot a bit lower on the target.. two side by side mid chest. She may not have had Xhex's or Tohr's accuracy but she would soon enough.. at least enough to save her life or that of someone else.

She took a deep breath and gulped as she nodded her head; the gun felt entirely foreign in her hands... It was heavy and cold, unlike anything she had held in her hand before. She looked over at Mary and mimicked her movements, holding the gun in the palm of one hand while gripping the handle tight in the other.
She squinted, one eye open and the other shut; her tongue was between her teeth and she noticed that she was holding her breath. You can do this, Mia. You can do this.... she chanted to herself over and over in her head, let the breath she was holding out of her lungs, another deep inhale in, then out slowly as her finger finally pulled the trigger.
A loud sound went through the room; you would think it was the bang from the gun, but alas.... it was her screaming as the gun went off. She missed the target by a long shot, but it was okay. The laugh that escaped her lips after the gun went off resounded through the room longer than the sound of the gun. "That was..... amazing!" she said as she looked at Tohr. "Was that correct?"

Stared calmly through the sight, then frowned as she realized something was holding her still, then felt a shaking. Was the weapon...?
No...that was her. It was all her.
She'd had her finger on the trigger, but something had caused her to hesitate. But before she could even begin to recover, the other trainees had started firing, and she'd become paralyzed, followed by her hands shaking. Only her hands. The rest of her body remained relaxed, more or less. But she couldn't move...well, except for the shaking she couldn't seem to stop.

Watched them all fire and barked out, "Remember. Consider a gun always loaded. Consider the safety is always off. Even if facts are different. Never, point a gun at anyone that you don't plan on killing. For it only takes on slip, one misjudged error for a kill to occur. Remember, a bullet doesn't care. So you need to."
He walked up behind Cormia and adjusted her stance and nodded. "Not bad Trainee. But our goal is to actually hit the target." No humor showed as he stepped away. He walked up to to Mary, checked her stance and adjusted Ehlena's arm.
Then he stopped behind Autumn and whispered into her ear, "And extension leelan. Feel the force as you do I, when I surge against you." Ran his hand down her arm to the pistol, wrapping his hand around hers and then his finger over hers on the trigger, "A force to be respected. A force to be welcomed." Growled against her ear, "A force that moves through your body. And you make it yours as it becomes one with you."
Felt her pull the trigger with a smile, "Again. Continue."
Hit a control on the wall to move the target farther away another 10 f__t. "Trainees, imagine a leeser is advancing towards you. And it is only you and your extension, that gun in your hand, that will save your fallen Hellren. Your wounded young."
He hit another control and the targets started going side to side, "You. Are the Weapon."

She nodded at Tohrment and tried to keep her arm in the correct position. It wasn't easy. When you looked at the Brothers, you thought they'd just take the gun and shoot and that was it. It wasn't. You had to be careful, you had to concentrate, you had to think, you had to do so many things.... Of course, she thought, with time it'd come instinctively. For now? Yeah, no.
Once again, Mary pulled the trigger and this time she didn't entirely miss. She had aimed for the head and had shot on the neck. She couldn't help but smile. Looking around, she saw her Hellren giving her an approval smile. She winked and got ready for another try.

Ehlena stopped to listen to the next round of instructions. While the targets were adjusted she laid her weapon down and stepped back so she wouldn't accidentally take a shot and not have clearance to do so from Tohrment.
When the paper bad guys settled she picked up the weapon and she had the "go" she retrieved the Glock, slid the safety off and resumed her stance, remembering the adjustment to her elbow that the Brother had made. Muscle memory was a good thing right now.
She heard his instructions.. "Fallen Hellren" and if her eyes could have gone red like her male's they would have. She could still see the She-bitch Princess but this time the results were different. Rehv had been bitten and was sick from the venom and unable to defend himself. A soft growl forced aside she squeezed the trigger until the slide stayed open. A couple shots hit the shoulders of the target one in the neck one in the face and the rest center chest shots not a tight pattern but still deadly. When her clip was empty, she slid the safety back on and stepped back again. "OUT OF AMMO..!"she called and waited for another clip.

Swallowed and blinked and took a deep breath, letting it out slowly. And she realized what had made her pause, initially. It was the memories that her mind had begun to bury deep inside of itself, as well, on a smaller part, as those that she knew Tohrment must be struggling with to a degree, after the death of his shellan. That knowledge, those memories were pushing their way back to the forefront, and the moment that first shot had been fired off, her brain had gone back to her life before the Other Side. The day Darius and Tohrment had shown up to rescue her. With each successive shot, she fell further and further into the memory, as if each shot in the present were an echo of the one from the past, that had narrowly but expertly missed her and pierced the sympath's skull. But as Tohrment had spoken to her, so close, her eyes closed, and his deep voice followed by the touch of his hands had pulled her back to the present. At which point, she'd opened her eyes again, and the only trace of the memory had been the face of the sympath taking the place of that of the paper target before her and her gunmetal greys. And almost without thought, her finger had squeezed the trigger, her brain taking control, sending that bullet ripping through the air toward a target long-deceased.
As he spoke again, and the now-moving target became her soon-to-be-hellren's attacker, her goal then became to repay the debt she owed him in the same form as its origin, those centuries ago.
And her finger pulled again.

Nodded to all, and walked and thumbing each empty clip, letting it clatter to the floor, he spun a new one in its place, slamming it home. Walked up to Ehlena, and handed her the personal she had brought, "Good job Trainees. Now, continue as you wish. I want to go through those new clips." Kissed the back of Autumn's neck as he passed, so proud to feel the strength that sweetened the air around his female.
He stood back and watched each one and laid his head back against the wall, exhaustion blurring and smoothing out the sounds and scene, as he pressed the muzzle of his glock against his forehead, kissed the barrel as his thumb brushed the engraving on the grip:
To my Hellren, Love- Wellsie.

Taking her case she nods at the brother and lays it aside. "Thank you," she said as she picked up the newly loaded weapon. In quick succession she fired through the bullets tearing the center out of a new paper target, before laying it back to the table.
As the paper drifted to the floor she made sure the chamber was empty and the safety was on before she picked up her case again and headed to the door to meet her hellren for a light meal before they retired for the day.
