Standing on the roof of a building, she closed her eyes and listened, opening her senses, all of her senses, to the night. She was looking for a target, any would do as she had several at the moment. Feeling an odd grid, just at the edge of her range, she dematted closer, this time in an alley across the street from where her senses told her a vampire was waiting.
Scanning his grid, she found she was familiar with it, but had not felt it in a long time. Shaking her head, she watched him for a little while, wondering what he was up to. His grid was reading as confident, even cocky, yet calm for the most part. There was some irritation and by the glances he kept shooting at his watch, she assumed he was meeting a late someone.
Her suspicions were confirmed when a black SUV with heavily tinted windows and shiney chrome rims pulled into the alley behind the vampire's car. At first, she figured he wasn't as smart as he thought he was, but after scanning his alley again, she realized there was an exit at the other end, his car pointed straight at it. It seemed he was prepared for a quick exit if need be. Two Hispanic men in their early 20s got out of the vehicle and approached the vampire. These guys weren't the brightest bulbs. They handed over the duffel of their drug of choice to the vampire. Exactly as expected, the vamp refused to turn over the cash, the goons pulled their guns, and threatened all kinds of fun things. Surprising her though was when the guns turned themselves on their owners and those same owners pulled the trigger. Clean and efficient, she supposed, though she preferred up close and personal.
The vamp returned to his vehicle, briefcase of cash and duffel of drugs in tow. He dropped the bags in the trunk, whistling a tune, and then drove off without a second glance. He was more cold hearted than she remembered, but then again, time and difficult circumstances did that to people. Pleased with her progress for the night, she dematted to the back door of the club and let herself in. In her office, she pulled out her phone and texted Rehv. Have info for you...need to meet soon.
