Thus it was.
He had left the others from patrol last night and found himself sitting on the riverbank until the dawn began to peek. There was no way he could have returned home to his shellan and son with the nature of destruction and resentment that had built inside him.
Resentment wasn't for anyone but thy self in times in which it flared. He had picked up a small pebble from the shoreline, thrusting it forward from his hands as he watched it skip half way across the rivers width. An aspect of time consumed far too long ago as a child when he had no other way of defining what it was he had felt.
It was by far nothing of the present that had him in such a haze, least not of the immediate present. Lest he go back a week, a few years, a century, two centuries, three. How he had made so many choices in his long life, many that could deter the wicked, turn the good and therefore either break a soul for utter eternity or make them stronger for it.
Mostly it had made him a stronger warrior, a stronger twin, a stronger hellren once that time his Cormia came into his life and now a strong father. So why now was it all coming to a head in his mind? Surprise surprise he was left alone in that solitary thought as he had simply fell into staring at the gentle ripples that flowed across the water.
He found his voice after a while although he spoke and sung in the Old Langauge. The music wasn't a neccessity for he knew the words as if he had written them himself. As the notes filled the sky around him, his eyes slid shut and for the moment that he was in, he allowed himself to forget the hatred for their enemy, his personal redemption in many a thing throughout his life as well his own foresakes.
Lifting his eyes after what was sure to have been quite some time, he had pushed himself up off the ground to stand. Time alone, outside, it was all he had needed. All was well in him now, his life and his family and for that, he would rejoice. Tossed his atoms to the wind, he went home. The dawn had approached mere moments after taking form on the front steps of the mansion and his passing through the doors.
