Yes, Nalla had way too much energy to burn, she thought as she watched her buzz around her room. They had tried coloring for a bit but Nalla just seemed too antsy to sit still. It was the same with doing puzzles. So, she watched as she bounced from playing with her dolls, to playing dress up and finally decided it was far too nice out to be inside anyway. "How about we take a walk out in the garden?" Nalla's face lit up and she grabbed her hand and practically dragged her out the door. They headed down he hall of statues, then down the staircase before stepping finally stepping outside to be greeted by the mild night air.

The giggle of the young pulled her from her thoughts. Looking up from her book she smiled as Nalla dragged Bella out onto the patio. "Good evening sister mine," she called. "It it a lovely evening," she waved at Nalla and smiled. "Hello Miss Nalla," she said. "Would either of you females of worth like a cup of tea?"

She glanced over to Ehlena and smiled. "Good evening. I didn't see you there." Taking a seat, she watched as Nalla quickly picked a flower and ran back over to the table to hand it to Ehlena. She then proceeded to climb up in one of the chairs. She raised a brow and laughed. "Yes, I guess, we both will." She looked over at Ehlena. "How are you?"

Taking the flower from Nalla she kissed her little cheek. "Thank you, small one," she said then looked up at Bella as she poured the tea into a pair of Limoges tea cups. "I suppose I am well. Physically any way. The rest I'm not too sure about at this point," she answered honestly as she put a smaller cup before Nalla.

She was about to take a sip of her tea when Nalla hopped down from her chair and ran off. Keeping an eye on her to make she she wasn't wandering off to far, she turned back to Ehlena. "How do you mean? What's going on?"

"Your brother asked something of me that," her voice quieted,"I never thought I would ever hear from him. He asked me to find a way to stop my Needing should it come soon. He doesn't want me to bear his child." she said taking a long sip of tea, her eyes focused on the small red rose bud lying on the table by her saucer.

She paused with the cup to her lips then slowly set it back down, looking over at Ehlena in confusion. "He what?" Her mind flooded with questions in that instant along with memories of her own Needing. Slowly shaking her head. "There's not stopping that freight train when it hits. You can medicated to ease the pain, but why? I just don't understand. Did he give you a reason?"

"He said that his blood trumps mine. Our young no matter how small the amount of symphath blood he or she would have would be symphath. He's afraid and that's the bottom line. He fears for me. He fears that our young would be hunted and shamed and forced to hide like him. I tried to reason with him but you know how he gets so I told him that if I came into my Needing before he had settled his fears, that I would release him from his obligation to be with me and I would sequester myself away from him. All other avenues are far too final and permanent and very invasive," she answered.

Stunned, she sat back and tried to process all Ehlena had said. "It sounds like you both have been discussing this for some time. I have to say I'm a bit surprised. My brother is very good with young. You've seen him with Nalla. As far as being shamed?" She shook her head. "Times are different now. Things are not as they were for him. He would not tolerate his young being treated in such a way. Nor do I believe the Brotherhood."

"Yes we have been discussing this for a while. Just in case. You never know when it will come in some cases. I tried to tell him that it would be different for our young. I tried to assuage his fears but he was so adamant that well you know he even refused to feed me because he thought that his blood not the poison had made me sick. Then he nearly starved himself when he thought that feeding from me would harm me. It was only about a week ago that he fed from me for the first time since we became ill. Bella, I would love nothing more than to give him a young warrior or a beautiful chosen like Nalla but he's so afraid that he's tainted and unworthy and just plain afraid that I don't think I'll ever be given the chance."

Sighing, she looked over to Nalla who was busy looking for new flower blossoms. It was a very real possibility that Zsadist could have let the damage done by his past get in the way and deny her during her needing. He believed the same, that he was tainted and unworthy. In that case, Nalla wouldn't be here. But somehow he was able to put all that aside and she was glad he had. It was a life changer in so many ways. Turning back to Ehlena. "I think when the time comes, things will be different. He says that now, but when the time comes, I just don't believe he'll be able to deny you."

She took a sip of her now cool tea. "I pray to the Virgin Scribe that you are right. I pray that something some where convinces him, even if I can't, that he is a male of worth and worth loving and worth being a father," she stated softly.

Nalla chose that time to come running over. She pulled her up onto her lap and took the flower she offered her. "I'm sure he'll come around and I'm certain, it will be you who convinces him. Cross that bridge when you come to it." She smiled then kissed the top of Nalla's head.

Ehlena smiled as she stood, gathering her tea cup to go back inside. "From your lips to the Virgin's ears," she prayed fervently. "I think I'm going to head in. I have a hellren to persuade," she chuckled as she picked up the tiny bloom and kissed Nalla's little cheek. "Rest well sister mine and you too little one," she said as she headed back into the library. Before she got to the door she glanced into the night sky. A meteor streaked over the expanse, burning bright against the black velvet of the night canopy. She smiled and nodded as she pulled the french door open and stepped inside the mansion.

As Ehlena went inside, Nalla turned in her lap, wrapping an arm around her neck and rubbing her eyes with her other little hand. Finally, she was tired. Kissing the top of her head, she picked up the flower she had given her and tucked it behind Nalla's ear. Nalla smiled and she picked her up to carry her inside. She hoped her brother would come around, because she couldn't imagine him not having young of his own.
