midnightblackdagger.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=101&action=display&thread=326~ Your death was something that affected us all. You ready to face it? ~ That solitary statement from V resonated in her mind for a few minutes. Tracing the tips of her fingers repeatedly over his back, she tilted her head up to meet his and kissed him softly. “Yes.” One word. One word that held such power and yet she was finding that one word rendering her speechless. For a moment anyways. Keeping her eyes locked onto Vishous, hoping that he would know what she meant without having to say it directly. "I need to see" taking a deep breath "it baby."

Already knew what she was referring to, though this wasn't what he'd expected to get from this trip to the Penthouse. On a long breath, used a finger to move a strand of hair back from her face.
"Your sure, going there won't be a problem. You understand there isn't anything but dirt. I never actually put you there." Closed his eyes, that horrible damn day coming back to him once again. "Couldn't."
Wasnt really fair of him not to give her this, even if the thought did tear him up. She had, after all, given him everything he'd ever asked for without question.

Closing her eyes as she ran a lone finger around to his chest and settled her palm against his heart.
"I know, but I need to face the reality of what is there. Its both the end of one life and the beginning of another wrapped up in one."
Leaning in to lay her head down over her own hand against him, she stayed there for a moment maybe more before moving to sit up fully. Turning so she could slide free of the bed, she pushed to the edge and stood.

Lay there watching her for a moment, then his attention went over to the table. Yeah, he'd finally broken the 'Ice Shell'. It was there he'd lived so long his reputation revolved around it. As the scene with Butch then after math in Jane's arms flooded back to him, it was a fact that closure was important. He'd changed irrevocably that day, eyes traveling back to Jane had to wonder how this would change her.
"Alright, you know where it is. I'll tell you though, Jane, sometimes what we get when we ask isn't what we thought." Said as he sat as well.
Bent at the edge of the bed to retrieve his leathers, then stood near her while he pulled them up. Reached over then brought her head to his lips, placing a kiss on the part in her hair.

Keeping herself silent for a moment, she let her arms instinctively grab hold of his waist.
"Its a start and that alone has to count for something. I can't back away from something because I might fear the latter reaction V."
Letting go of him, she bent down and picked up her clothes that was sprawled all over the floor. No that wouldn't do she thought so she walked over to the small dresser they kept here for a few changes of their clothes, grabbing a pair of jeans and a white tanktop. Setting the other clothes on top of the dresser, she pulled the jeans on and finished with her shirt.
As her eyes trailed around the room, the table, the bed, she stopped and took an barely audible breath as she looked up at Vishous again. Two steps across the floor and she was standing in front of him and grabbed his cursed hand in hers. "I'm ready." In more ways than one.
Smiling at him, she began to fade from the penthouse.

He'd barely gotten his weapons back into place and jacket on when she returned and took his hand for that split second. Shook his head just a little when she faded out, then nabbed his glove from the bedside table before tossing his atoms through the locked glass door.
Took form behind her, already determined steps carrying her straight to...
The grave stone Manny had installed above what was only dirt below. Simple, plain while at the same time a physical reminder of the most painful day in his three hundred plus years. Head bent slightly, more to put his glove on, but also to hide the expression on his face before he could get himself in check.
Wasn't going to work, had to just deal with however he appeared. Once they came to a stop at her headstone, he put his arm around her waist and was, for once, quiet. He'd never been here, only knew of it. Didn't mean it didn't smack him in the chest hard as that bullet the Dieatrix had shot him with had.

Stared down at the headstone and didn't have a single thing to say. She had been here before but never paid all that much attention to it, her mind at that time had been strictly on getting Manny back to the mansion to help Payne.
She felt the sting of a tear start in the corner of her eye, tried to clamp down on that and stood there, hard as that was. Wrapping one arm around her waist so that she could hold onto Vishous, she opened her mind and let the memories swamp her over that night that had changed both their lives so drastically with one single bullet.

Stepped up behind her, the scent of spring rain almost overwhelming his senses, then wrapped his arms around her loosly. Displays of emotion so rare for his shellan, his own heart breaking as they stood there. Soothing his still ungloved hand along her arm, whispered.
"Go ahead Jane, let it out." Jesus this was hard, he'd never actually seen her grave before. "Baby, I'm here and love you so much, just like you are."
Ended up standing her back to his chest, resting his cheek against her head. That day, that terrible day. He'd had the vision and passed it off as PTSD. His shirt, stained in blood. When the vision played he'd knelt on hard pavement helpless to do a thing. His strong, incredible, intelligent female lifeless in his arms. Never wanted this day to come either, her tears falling on a clear night causing storms to coalesce within both they're minds.

He was her strength in this moment that she never realized that she couldn't be herself. Absently tightening her grip on his arms, she simply didn't know how to let go.
"I" forcing herself to keep her eyes open to look at the headstone. Not glance but truly look, she felt a tear fall down her cheek "I know I'm not there" entwining her fingers with his hand, she lifted them both to her temple. "In here I know" dropping them both down to her chest "but here I don't know how to accept it, even after all this time."
Another tear, then another began to fall.

Now he was in so much pain over it with her, his own recollection being overridden with her's. Bent down enough to kiss the corners of her eyes. He'd never really asked her a lot of the questions he had about all that had occurred between the moment that lesser had shot her to the one the Scribe had returned her. Wanted to give her this time, for possible reconciliation, maybe even finally laying to rest her pain over it.
"What do you remember love?" Lips against her temple. "I mean about how you came back. If that's too much to ask, you don't have to answer." Voice a whisper.
The more she cried the more he wanted to hold on and never let go again. Just as it had been in the days and weeks following his own miracle. In truth, the only time he had let go was to go see the Scribe.

His words caused her to close her eyes as she turned in his arms, unable to look at the symbol of her death any longer. Tears covering her cheeks in a steady stream.
Her eyes blurred as she opened them slightly "Everything, I saw you in pain and wanted to do anything to help you not hurt anymore. Vishous I had to let..."
As her head laid against the crook of his neck, she saw someone across the cemetery that caused her to stop mid sentence. A young girl, alone, sitting next to a headstone.

"You saw me, what Leelan?" Lord her tears where killing him, tearing him apart slowly inside and out. Yet she'd stopped mid-sentance.
Smoothed his hand down her back, almost rocking her. Even a a chill crept along his own spine. Internally he was cursing himself for being so short sighted that he believed that vision was about him. Why hadn't he seen the truth? Could blame all those years of staying away, the happiness those few days had brought him. But again, this wasn't about him was it? Damn his stupid curses.

She was beginning to relax in his arms. Steadying herself enough to arch her head to get a better look past him, she sobbed. Having almost missed what V said, she looked back at him. "I saw you..."
Shaking her head, she took a step back from his arms around her. "Why would a little girl be here alone at this hour?"

Hold loose enough for her to be able to move, his head turned to where she was focused. Narrowing his eyes, he saw only a shimmer next to a tree. Almost as though the air was wavering there, though it reminded him of his Mhis. Without moving his head, shifted his eyes back to her face.
"Jane? I don't see any little girl." The way she had moved left his cursed hand on the back of her head. "Are you trying to make me feel better? It's ok to cry, this hurts me too."
He'd chosen his words carefully, glancing between her and the spot she stared at.

"Baby, I know this is hard on us both."
Flipping her attention back and forth between him and the little girl, she lifted the back of her hand to wipe away the tears that had stained her cheeks. Taking another small step forward, not enough to lose his touch on her, she paused and pointed towards the lone headstone next to a tree across the way.
"She's right there" she was intrigued how someone could let their child out alone like this.

Finally went ahead and turned to face where she had pointed, letting out hard breath. Night vision or not, he still could see that strange shimmer but otherwise, nothing. Tilted his head to the sky, mumbled 'Lassiter, now is not the time.' Then waited. Nothing. The only being he knew that would choose now to pull a fast one, wasn't there. So, what was it?
"How about you tell me what it is you see. True?" For some reason his skin was raised and on the back of his neck he could feel the hairs stand on end.
Yet didn't actually see or hear a thing.

She let out an low breath as she reached over to wrap her hand halfway around his much larger one "A small girl, sitting between a tree and a lone headstone. She's all by herself."
Keeping her eyes locked now onto the girl who was paying absolutely no attention to them, she started to walk forward slowly but not actually moving her feet, just her upper body leaned forward. A huge part of her wanting to go to her.

Now he was in her mind, and getting a picture of what she saw. Sitting alone, with a dress that could date really any time at all, dark aubern curls falling down small shoulders, hand covering a small face, the other loosly holding a headstone was a little girl. Blinked and once again only actually saw that strange waver in the air.
"Go ahead Jane." Interested to find out just what was going on.
Didn't let go of her hand, really just let his body go loose enough to follow her should she take what he said to heart. Though, this was strange, damn if strange hadn't been a big part of his life.

Though she felt him loosen his grip, she held on lightly to his hand. Instinctively taking the first few steps towards the girl without thinking. Turning back to look at him, "I love you" she whispered to him.
She needed him with her, although a part of her wanted to go to the girl alone. Dropping her hand from his, she walked through the grass, slowly, until she reached the child. Standing there for a moment, waiting for the girl to notice her, but it never happened.
Kneeling "Hello." The girl, no older than eight or nine sat there, her dress bunched around her knees then slowly looked up at her.

He'd followed her, part of him stuck on the idea that this could well be her way of almost superimposing what she couldn't handle into something else. Though, it was Jane. She had always been so grounded in reality that theory went out fast. She must have been seeing something. It was in her mind, and what he'd seen didn't really look like the image he had of her sister Hannah.
When she let go, since he couldn't see what she did, he hung back. His phone vibrated, again, in his pocket. Reaching for it, he stopped when she knelt and spoke. He didn't say a word, whatever this was? Seemed to be specifically for her.

"Hi, who are you?"
With a small smile, she reached out to place her hand on the child's arm in reassurance that she wasn't there to harm her. A slight gasp left her lips when her hand went through her arm and landed on the ground. Tilting her head back to look at Vishous for a second then back to her.
"My name is Jane, I saw you over here and wanted to make sure you was alright." She looked so much like her sister, she thought as she sat down next to the girl to make her more comfortable. Surprise took over her at the fact that she was seeing someone as she was and calmly talking at that.
"What is your name?"
The little girl smiled up at her "Cecilia, thats my name. Jane is pretty. I come here all the time cause my mommy is sad alot and she comes here all the time too."
She tilted her head to the side as she listened, keeping the smile on her face. "Why is your mommy so sad?"
Without even a pause from the child "Because I died. My heart wasn't strong enough when I was born."
The shock of the girls confession caused her to fade from where she sat. Forcing herself to gain control she willed herself back solid and the girl stood up. "Your like me! Can you teach me how to do that?"

Still couldn't see what Jane was talking to, felt a little out of place now as she was carrying on a conversation. Hanging back, glanced around and still, no Lassiter or anything else. That he could sense at least. Pulled his phone out of his pocket and what the fuck did he know not one but a few texts from none other than Rehvenge.
This one he'd seen coming, though it was a tough one. Now he had to make a choice, his shellan or his Brother.
"Hey baby? How about you go back home. I mean, personally I'm not so sure this is good for you." Said as he sent a text to Rehv.
Stepped over to her, damn graveyards gave him the chills anyway and the closer he got the worse that cold inside was. Gently put his glowing fingers in her hair, then bent down to kiss her.
"I've been holding on Rehvenge long enough. Let's talk about this at home, ok?" Damn felt like an ass, but as he raised his eyes he still didn't hear anything. "Please Jane?"
Her nod was slow. He trusted her, implicitly, but something in the back of his mind told him this wasn't over. Far from it. One more kiss, glancing to where she had focused. Bit his own lip, then let go. He had followed her here, could only hope she would truly go home.
Stood then lost form headed straight for none other than the mountains where Rehvenge had texted from.

Smiling up at Vishous as he came over, she lingered against his lips for a minute then nodded at his asking her to go home. Watching him demat away, she turned back to Cecilia "What do you mean?"
Cecilia started to pace around the headstone. "Others can see you" pointed towards where Vishous was just standing "That man can see you and I want to be able to let my mommy see me."
She didn't know what to say, she watched the child and could see Hannah whole heartedly in the eyes of the girl. Same spunk and zest as her sister. "I am not sure how I would be able to help." Honestly she had no idea how but something inside her was pulling her to do just that. Standing she shook her head "I'm sorry, I just don't know how too." She felt the tears want to start again and she quickly composed herself.
"I'm sorry Cecilia." She faded from the cemetery and headed home to the Pit, just as she had promised Vishous she would but could not stop thinking about about the little girl.
