The next morning, after feeding Vishous, I was still sluggish. I dressed and went down to eat. Fritz made me blueberry waffles topped with strawberries and whipped cream, coffee and orange juice. When I was done, I returned to my room and laid down, thinking it would help.
Several hours later, I was still not myself. I had realized I was in dire need of blood. But as I was not accustomed to drinking from another, it was rime for me to retire to the Other Side to recharge my body.
Getting up, I showered and blew dry my hair. I braided it and wound it on top of my head. Donning my robes, I listened until the shutters rose for the evening.

Going down the Grand Staircase, I ran into no one on the way out the front door. Since I was only gonna be gone for a day or so, I didn't bother to let anyone know where I went. Calming myself, I dematted to the Other Side.
Materializing in the courtyard, beside the fountain, I looked around and saw as usual, nothing had changed. Well except there were less songbirds on the Scribe Virgin's white tree in the corner. I was still here as a Sequestered Scribe when she gave up her songbirds for her son, Vishous' happiness.

I was also still here when Vishous began bringing songbirds back to her. There were more each time I came back. I had made entries to be put into the volume for Vishous, but after his question, I was curious about his volume. Sitting on the edge of the fountain I ran my hand through the water, while I listened to the songbirds.
Standing, I left the courtyard and headed to the Temple of Books. The giant double doors were always open to the Chosen. The leathery sweet smells of the bindings and the stacks and stacks, rows and rows of volumes made me feel like I had come home.

Walking down the aisle to the middle corridor, I turned to make sure no one else was there. Turning down the middle corridor, I came upon the glossy red doors. On it were the crossed daggers, with hilts pointing downward and the motto of the Brotherhood.
Opening the double doors, I stepped and perused the shelves. The volumes were kept in chronological order by year and alphabetical by sire. Running my hands down the leather volumes, I finally found the volumes for the Bloodletter. There were many of them. But when I got to Vishous Bloodletter, there was only one volume. I pulled it from the shelf and opened it. There was nothing inside it, other than Vishous' name and and that he was sired by the Bloodletter. Nothing on his Mother, even though I now knew the Scribe Virgin was his mother, and of all the entries I made about him, there was nothing there but blank pages.

Confused isn't exactly what I was. I think incredulity covered it better. But there was no way I would question the Scribe Virgin about it either. If you wanted to live, you did not question the Scribe Virgin. Perhaps she had his volume in her quarters.
After replacing the volume on the shelf, I left the secret room and pulled the doors closed, then left the library.
Crossing over to the Temple of Sequestered Scribes, my last known address, I opened the doors. Since there were no other sequestered scribes, the temple was empty except for me.

The rows of desks were all in their same places, as were the beds that lined the wall. Everything was exactly as I left it, since there were no scribes to replace me that I knew of, or perhaps it was just that they weren't sequestered any longer.
I sat down at my desk and unrolled a scroll of parchment after removing the ribbon tie from it. Spreading it out, I reached for my quill and began absentmindedly writing the letters in the Old Language. Being meticulous with the letters, until they came back easily.

Picking up the Chosen bowl, I rubbed the underneath side and watched as the waters swirled. When the scene became clearer, I began writing what I saw. It didn't take long to describe the scenes until I was done.
Rolling the parchment and tying it with the ribbon, I carried it to the wondow box and set it there for the Scribe Virgin to look at and either add to it or send it back to be cut and placed in the appropriate volume.

Tired at last, I retired to my bed and laid down to sleep and recharge. Laying my head on the pillow, I closed my eyes and fell into a peaceful sleep.
Since there is no night and day, I wasn't sure how long I had been asleep. Using the Chosen bowl again, I made sure it was once again nightfall before I went back to the courtyard and once again dematted back to the Mansion.
Materializing on the front lawn of the Mansion, I walked back up to the door and gained admittance to the foyer. Smiling at Fritz, I followed him into the kitchen. Sitting at the counter island in the kitchen as the doggen prepared breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage and pancakes. They poured my coffee and juice while my plate was prepared.

After eating breakfast, I returned to my room and thought about a new project. I needed to find something to do, something new. I decided on making a new garden for Cormia and pulled up my laptop to do some research.
