He wished things were different, that he was abled to fulfill his role as Primale in the fashion that was deemed of him when he took the role from Vishous. Yes, things had changed dramatically and would he want the fact changed that he found his soul in Cormia and simply became “father” and “Protector” over the remaining Chosen. No! With a million times repeated he would never yet as he sat in his office, thumbing through paperwork, mostly bills, of items the Chosen have requested to purchase or those items in which he had to replace, he drew a blank as to if he was truly up to par on bringing the Chosen to this side and whether they were ultimately happy here.
Pushing up from his desk, he left the room and headed upstairs to shower. Cormia was busy entertaining Aggie in the art of drawing so that left him with time on his hands and a mind full of worry.
Taking less than ten minutes to shower, he wrapped the towel around his waist, walked to the closet of their bedroom and grabbed his white silks from the far corner of the closet. Heading back into the bedroom, laying his garmets on the bed, he took a moment to look over the silk. Letting out a long deep breath, he dressed then spun on his bare heels to the top dresser drawer. Opening it, he shuffled through the items inside, pulling out a box from the back. Pulling back the lid, he ran his fingers over the gold Primale medallion before lifting it over his head to rest against his semi still wet skin.
Closing his eyes as the warmth of the medallion began to spread through him, he reopened them as he now stood on the Other Side. Sanctuary standing in front of him. Turning his head, he took notice of the colors. It was ultimately beautiful here yet he never came, never felt compelled to relish any time here unless required.
It was quiet, almost eerily so, as he stood. Alone. Letting out a breath, he brought his palm up to cup the medallion against his chest.
"Consequences of an action whether started with good intentions or bad, is still consequences" he spoke, although to who he knew not.

Having made another trip to the Other Side in as many weeks, first to recuperate from the feedings and the second reason to try and find out more about Vishous' volumes in the Temple of Books as he had asked, I find myself taking a walk through the quiet courtyard.
Sitting on the edge of the fountain, listening to the peaceful trickle of the water, I bent to run my hand through the coolness.
The Chosen that had remained behind in this quiet place were at meals so there was no milling about and the only sound to be heard was that of the Scribe Virgin's beautiful colorful songbirds that Vishous had replaced for his Mother after she had sacrificed them for his happiness.
Looking up just at Phury appeared, I rose to greet him. "Hi Primale. I didn't know you were coming for a visit. Mayhaps what brings you to this side, is something wrong? Am I needed back at home?"

Turning to see Selena, his body tensed then relaxed...a little. Ectched a smile on his face for her then slightly bowed his head as he walked over to her and took her hand in his.
"Greetings Selena, I hope thee are faring well this day? No no everything is as it should be at home."
Letting go of her hand, the smile on his face faded as he walked over to the fountains edge and took a seat.
He lifted his head again to look momentarily at Selena then away again before he spoke low "Selena..."

My heart relieved that things at home are fine, I sat down again with Phury on the fountain edge. "What bothers you Phury? Why are you here? Did you try to come see if more Chosen wanted to cross over now that some time has gone by for them?
I noticed the lines in his forehead, he seemed so lost in thought, and yet wanting to say something.
"Phury, what is it? Something I may help with?"

"Are you happy?"
He blurted it out then sighed. His hand coming up to run through the length of his multicolored hair.
"Truly happy with how things are whether it be on this side or the other?"

Smiling shyly, I looked up at him. "Phury I have never been happier in my my life. I love being on the other side with you, Cormia, Aggie and Layla. You have given my sisters and I much more than we could ever have expected."
"Are you worried that you think you have done wrong by the Chosen by choosing only Cormia and not following tradition?" Taking his hand, "oh Phury, never be sorry for the things that transpired for you and Cormia. I would never begrudge my sister happiness."
"Times have changed and the traditions that were, are no more. It is not your fault."

The medallion stating his station swung back and forth as he leaned forward, then with a single motion he pulled the leather from around his neck with his free hand and cupped the warmth of the gold in his palm.
"No, it is not that. I would be denying you and the others more if I was to live a false life in both my desires as well as you alls. Cormia is my heart, my soul, the breath I take each day in order to be able to take another and another."
He stood then, pulling Selena up with him and they started to walk side by side and listen to the melodic sounds of the birds around them.
"I see the longing Selena, from you, from Layla, from all the others that have have chosen to live with us on the Other side and even those who remain here, to take that happiness away from any of you is not something I ever wish to do yet I feel as if I am simply not giving each of you what you all need nor want from this life. Our Aghony...a strong son to me, a beautiful young to Cormia, a brother to each of you and a nephew to his Aunts and Uncles is something I would never change and I want that for you all. To see to feel that love of a young, it is one of the strongest bonds ever."
Stopping only for a moment, he looked directly into her eyes "A blessing of everything I have yet never fully deserve bares down on me when I see the longing for the same in each of you alls eyes."

Patting his hand, as we walked side by side. "Phury you were lucky enough to find Cormia when you did. We all know the stories of what you went through. And if not for Cormia, maybe you wouldn't have made it."
"Layla and the others and I, all hope and dream for what you and Cormia have, what Beth and Wrath have, Bella and Zee, Jane and V, Butch and Marissa, John and Xhex....... and we will have it someday. Please do not feel as if you have failed us..... just freeing us to come home with you is much more than we ever expected."
"We will all find our other halves, as you did, it just may take up a little longer. I know I am happy and the others have never said they weren't. So don't fret so."

It was with trepidation that he listened to her as he turned his body back forward and started to walk once more.
"It is that I believe I fear most of all" a smile coming to his face. "You all have found a place within mine heart, a heart I felt for hundreds of years that never would find the happiness and blessing of a family outside of mine twin yet here I stand, with more than even a dream could have brought forward. For any offer of a male who in mine eyes will be worthy of not one but all of you is a blessing and a nightmare mixed together."
As they walked, they of course talked and talked still more. His medallion still clung in his strong grip.

Walking once again with Phury, I listened to his voice as he talked about being afraid he had not done right by us. I wanted to help him find a way to believe that he was worthy..... worthy of what he now had and more than that.... worthy of himself.
Being the last Sequestered Scribe, I had more of an insight into what he had gone through in his life than the others. I had looked into the seeing bowl and seen his life as it transpired as I had the other Brothers and the other members of the Race.
I often wondered if any of then had ever read their own stories or the stories of their sires and their families to know what they went through and more importantly, just how far they had come.
