midnightblackdagger.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=diningroomkitchen&action=display&thread=441Walking along the edge of the wall, she moved fluidly across the open space till she reached the foot of the bed. The black sheets a ruffled mess still. Leaned down to smooth her hand across the silk when she froze, her eyes closing. Everything began to swim in her mind. The first time they ever met, the first scorching touch between them, their first kiss, their most recent kiss, how his warmth envelops her as he lays on his left side and drapes his arm across her waist. It all played in her mind like a movie in fast forward mode. As she lifted her eyes slowly, her heart began to ache. Odd. Clasped her hand up to the center of her chest. On a whisper she called out “Visho...” Immediately she let her form fade, sending her molecules to the air as moments later was standing in the corner of the alleyway where she had sensed him but never taking full form. Watching him in his environment as the warrior he was. The shot! It rang through the alleyway, shaking her free of the infatuative stare, her wanting to lunge forward as her protective instincts flared. And she did, but only after a second rang free through the air. She was across the alleyway in seconds, lifted her hand to cup V’s face yet he remained still. Frozen was her best description. “Vishous, it’s me. Look at me.”

Total blackout had taken him under, deep. What was that, some kind of magic marksman lesser? That had been the last thought. Now he was hearing Jane? Somehow he couldn't believe it, this meant one of two things. While struggling for consciousness, The Fade couldn't be it, no white light or transition. Which made the second logical, and caused him to panic.
The moment that registered, he opened his eyes but couldn't see just yet. Searched around and found his arms, thankfully every other part of his body started gaining feeling back at about the same time.
"Jane. What are you doing." His hand clutching his chest, worked on getting up. "I didn't drive. We need Butch or Rhage."
He could hope he wasn't getting blood all over her.

"Stop"
Dropping her hand from his cheek to cover his against his chest, she scanned over his entire body. The bullet had hit but thank everything it wasn't a major blow to him. Her heart couldn't take the thought of him in dire pain.
Shifting through her pocket, she grabbed her phone and dialed Butch immediately. Ring once and she was spilling the details of there wherabouts. Letting the phone slide from her hold, her attention was fully on V and him only.
"Baby, Butch is on his way. You...stay with me. And tell me why your out here fighting all alone how bout it."

Finally his sight came back while she spoke. Started at her while she went through easy motions of getting things taken care of. Then sat up, his hand still on his chest, that panic still presant. Started listing to one side, then caught himself with his arm on the concrete. Glanced down expecting to see a pool of red blood.
Wasn't there, but the black was. Followed its drain path to the lesser he'd capped. Then darted back to Jane.
"Baby, you shouldn't be here. That's still animate." As she started to turn her head, he continued on. "Wait, no. Don't look. I've got this. True."
Started getting his shitkickers to get up. Wanted her behind him, last thing she needed was to see him torn up and lesser with a hole in its head flopping around. Gripped the hilt of his dagger, knew the movement was going to be up there on the pain scale. Thing was, even with his high tolerance; he didn't feel it where he thought he should.

Sure she was strong and had seen worse but the anger that flared up inside her at having her man hurt in any degree other than what was deemed pleasurable by either of them was something that she didn't deal well with.
"I'm to be wherever you are" pointed backwards with her hand towards the lesser writhing on the ground without so much as looking "they mean nothing to me. But you do."
Moving slightly to the side of him, she kept her hands in full check on his body. Having caught the lapse in movement from him, she knew more pain was filtering through him than what he was letting on and she wanted him to take it easy. Although she knew all to well the male that she loved was a warrior first and foremost so she refrained from becoming all too bossy with him to let her help.

He was just about to summon any reserve energy to be had, when the sound of tires screeching to a stop had him closing his eyes again. While Butch got out, some conversation happened between the Brother and Jane but he wasn't there anymore. Once again he saw it all like yesterday. Jane in his arms, her life slipping away, his with it.
Didn't hear anything going on outside, but after a couple replays of terror came back. Both his arms went around her, pulling her close into his body. Hadn't ever let go of his dagger, but nothing mattered other than her presence. So when Butch started gabbing he just stayed on his knees holding her.
'Yo, V. Got the mess taken care of. C'mon buddy let's get you back. Jane, he wasn't on patrol tonight. I'm not answering to Tohrment on this one. Fact.'
Though all he saw were the headlights of the Escalade. That light calling to him. Or worse, and naturally the thing he never wanted to see assaulted his mind. Jane, leaving his arms and walking into it. Without him. Leaving him alone for however many years he'd live without her.
Dropped his dagger to grip her tighter. Needing her scent and feel to chase that vivid, scary shit away.

Gasped a little at the swiftness then relaxed in his hold as his arms reached up to grab her. She snapped her attention back to Butch after the light show ended, him taking care of the last mess of lesser left around them and gave him her most sincere 'shutup' look.
Wrapping her arms around her V, she felt every tense muscle of his body as she cradled herself closer to the warmth of him. This wasn't him, not in the least. Lifted one hand to rub across his goatee, coming to rest a single finger on his lips. Looking into those deep diamond eyes, her features softened, her green eyes shined "Baby, look at me. Really look at me. Please."
She spoke low, a satin like caress to her voice "You and me baby. Lets go home, just you and me."
Keeping her eyes locked on him, she felt another ache shoot through her. Holding steady against him, she dropped one of her hands down to clasp against the gash on his side, the blood slowly still oozing between her fingers but for the most she had stopped anymore from coming out.
Butch walked over and shook his head while bending down to help her lift him up and begin to walk over to the Escalade.

Absolutely did not want to let go of Jane no matter what. When Butch came around, growled at his friend thinking he was going to make him. The hands up, Whoa buddy it's me, brought him back to cool, enough. Though once inside the back seat, rested his head on Jane's lap. Body going lax. Closed his eyes, the ride smooth but fast as ever.
He was back in Jane's car, driving her top speed away from everything and everyone. Had he talked to her? Seemed so. Never let go of her hand. Couldn't believe what he had to do. Took her... body, damn stabbing pain through his chest again... out after crashing into a tree.
Opened his eyes again with a curse, still able to smell the fire. Hear his boots move across forest floor. God why? He was the target, not her. It was always supposed to have been him.
On a shuddering breath, squeezed his lids closed again. Trying to erase that from his memory. That chalk wasn't disappearing. Ever.
Next thing he was back in his bed, turning his head over. There she sat, her legs pulled up under her in that uncomfortable chair. Full of life, his straight razor in her pocket letting him know she was ready to fight too.
"Take off your coat Jane." Waited for her to tell him off, hold his breath.
When she didn't, her lab coat grasped by those perfect hands, then pooling around her shoes on the floor, he reached for her. Let out a long breath when she didn't come over. He was on the mend now. Why was she picking up the phone? Had he lost that embrace through the distance they'd had of late.
Shit he was doing a great job. Throwing one arm over his browline, how could he survive loosing her again? Simple. He couldn't.
