Butch had them back home to the mansion in record time and was helping her out of the Escalade, both having arms wrapped around him, he being the one taking the brunt of V's weight on as she moved ahead slightly to clear the way for them to the clinic.

Pushing past the doors of exam room one, she turned just as Butch laid him down with a somewhat thud. "Gentle much Cop? We will be fine. Leave us please." Glancing up at him, he tossed her a wink before beating feet from the room giving them some privacy.

Smoothed her fingers through hair of the deepest black, she let her other hand drift back and forth across his heated skin as he lay next to her.

Pain at him getting hurt, anger at him going out to fight alone but mostly anguish at how things have been slammed into her and she was not enjoying it. No, not one damn bit.

Leaned down to whisper against his ear "I love you Vishous."

Gained her full stance once again and immediately went into doctor mode. Moving around the clinic room with finesse and expertise, she grabbed gauze and a few other supplies and walked back over to him and started to clean off both the blood and dirt that splotched his beautiful skin.

Reached for her, smoothing his good hand through her hair. Then was watching her go all professional. Let his head relax into the bed, thank everything she didn't have to take his leathers off, those skilled, perfect hands didn't need to be any where near his disfigurement.

Then his eyes snapped open. What had she said? Rested his other arm over his brow, cursed hand still uncovered. Peeked at her, tounge running along already lengthening fangs.

"Say that again." Her body shifted with every move, though he wanted to hear her speak.

Could feel pain now, searing and at a dull roar. Just couldn't pinpoint where. He had to shift one leg up, wouldn't want to scare her off with his body's reaction to her.

Snapping her attention back to those eyes even as her hands continually moved along his body, she couldn't hide the immediate pulsing every inch of her felt.

The brightest of green from her meeting his pure white with such a shimmer of diamond eyes that always drew her in deep.

"I love you."

Smiling, she pulled one hand up to cup the side of his face, tracing the tattoo etched there with her thumb as she held that oh so simple caress for a moment before moving back down to his massive chest.

He'd unconsciously leaned into her touch, then went back to covering his eyes up. Wondered how long he'd been out, didn't feel like she was performing major surgery. Had to bite his lip, the feel of her hands made his skin seem to reach for more. Deep breath in through his nose, then slow out.

"Dont know what happened. I was fine, the one that got me was hidden. Patrol alone quiet a bit, this was my fault. Must have been just enough off my game to allow it." There was an apology in there somewhere, he just couldn't find the words to say it.

Closed his eyes again. She felt so solid, just like when...

Was again in bed with her for the first time, her warm body against his. That feeling of new, bonding without his permission but not caring at all. She had been so stubborn, spending most all her time in that chair. When he'd finally wrestled that blade away then been able to feel her body against his it was a victory. More than that, he'd suddenly felt at peace with everything. If only for a small fraction of his life.

"Don't go.." Came out of those thoughts, even though at the moment he could feel it all too.

Moved across his abs to his side. The slash wasn't bad, well bad being a literal line between life and death. One she negated to ever fully acknowledge with anyone especially him.

Paused though as her fingers slid easily along the few stitches she had just finished putting in. The ragged whisper from him caught her heart in a vice. Looking up, her breath slowed even if was basically nil in the first place.

"Baby, I'm right here."

What had her on edge, she wasn't sure. Couldn't spin herself around and point a finger at the cause although surely she wanted to then slice it away with a thrust of her scalpel.

Caught her wrist, still using his good hand then moved to interlace fingers. Part of him wanted to spill on what was doing, that was warring with the perception something was off. He wasn't getting visions, were that the case this would be open and shut. No deal. Something else was going on. Aware he was being stubborn with not just talking about it, he pulled her down.

"Something bothering you Jane?" Spoken into the crook of her neck. "I'm hearing you but it's a jumble."

The rest of that was 'Coupled with whats going on in my brain', yet he wanted her to have to deal with it about as much as he was. So that made it not at all. The wince from part of her body pressing against his injury was hidden. Pain? Not him, that was something he could handle.

A gasp, entwined with longing, slipped past her lips as the warmth of his body entangled with hers. Loosening then tightening her fingers around his, her eyes closed for the slightest of moments.

"I worry V. I've seen you injured ten times the degree which you got tonight." Slowly lifting her eyes open, she never wavered from him a bit. "Yet never have I seen you not be able to take it. Your too strong, a little stubborn" stopped as a small smile graced her face which remained pressed against him "okay maybe a lot stubborn but this is different."

"Thats not it." Released his hold on her hand, while feeling down for where the shot really was.

The 'visions' had ended, at least he believed that to a degree. While he got a grip on where he actually was, roaming around the center they'd built together, breathed. That made him return to Jane, as he could feel a bullet lodged in his ribs. Went to get up, only for her to stop him then met her eyes.

"You going to let me heal up like this," small smile "Doctor Whitcomb. C'mon, I'm ready. All daisies again, true."

A shiver ran straight through her as she heard him call her by that. Sure enough that always made her run hotter than the longest day of a sweltering summer.

"Your going to heal up just as I want to too. Perfectly but in time."

Standing next to him, her eyes couldn't, no no, wouldn't stop roaming the length of his body. So much for complete professionalism. Laughed lightly, yet knew she shouldn't have.

Just then the feeling that she was missing the obvious here smacked her, kinda hard to, in the face. A bullet yes. ~Damn it Jane, stop and do then think later.~

Narrowing her brows, she walked around him and draped her fingers along his shoulder, going further down his arm until she met tattoo again that covered his hand.

Holding onto him for another minute, which only a few have passed but felt an eternity. Released her hold on him, took a deep breath and instantly reached for her scissors. Pain wasn't the issue for him and internally she knew he could deal with what she was about to do to him but no she was never prepared for working on him like this. It actually pained her but this is who she was, what she did and damn if she would quit now.

Watched her, pretty intensely. Something was going on, even if his mind was still coming back from replaying her death, it was clear she had hesitations. Which was so unlike her. Shook his head, black hair falling into one of his eyes.

"Much as I know you don't like me saying this Jane, don't know that you should be working on me. Don't look at me like your going to be angry. This next is even worse." Blew out a long breath, keeping the wince back. "Either I'm going to have to do it or Manny should."

The human surgeons name came out wrong, even to him it sounded like a curse. Truth was, he and his shellan had been distant as of late. Meaning they were hungry for eachother. When he breathed he could feel that metal between his ribs. Wasn't going to risk her being angry with herself if even the slightest mistake was made.

"I mean it. It's a rule anyway." Heat would come from that but much less than if an intelligent choice wasn't made now.

Taking another deep breath in, deep breath out then she placed a hand against his chest. Nothing more, nothing less.

Holding the scissors in her hand, she wanted to argue but now was not the time. "You are not, you can hardly breath and I" paused "Fine."

Turned and reached for her phone from her pocket, barely able to contain herself to the point of steadily making a phone call. She had one number dialed Manny, who was sure to be a room away as he always seemed to be even if she wasn't much less the research they had been working on as of late, he was prone to still be accessing the details they had found out already.

Spoke into the phone as soon as he anwered and told him to hightail it to exam one. Dropping her phone down onto the tray she stood next too now, her eyes locked onto Vishous and that certainly wasn't going to be changing nor was her leaving the room in any fashion. she might not be the one who would actually do the surgery this time but no way was she going to be a wall hugger during it either.

What was wrong with her? She needed to get ahold of herself real quick like.

Already aware of every repercussion that descision involved, shut his lids again during the call and stayed that way. When he heard the door swing open, then Manny talking to Jane, wasn't even trying to hear that conversation. More flashes cursed through his vision. What the hell? Was that just on replay? If so he was more than ready for someone to hit the stop, or even off button. While wishing he could literally unplug his mind, at least until that was done bugging him, Manny's deep voice broke through.

"It's in there deep Vishous. Don't give me shit, I'll keep my hands steady. Deal." So matter of fact, made the male hard to hate.

Felt the local go in, the rest was simple soft noise with breathing evening it all out. He'd decided not to be ocularly present for any of it. There had been enough dig and retrieves in his lifetime, done to and by him. The man was fast, while yet another scene from horror past slid past his mind, full color; heard the 'Clank' of metal on metal. Couldn't feel the sutures pulling through, or anything else but knew the Doctor wouldn't screw him.

Even if they weren't on the best of terms, the male was a professional.

While Manny spoke yet again, another scene decided to play around with his conscious. This one had him being brought in with his Brothers after a particularly bad run in. And he commanding;

"Not her."

While staring directly into Jane's wide, hurt filled eyes. It was Standard Medical Practice, yet the true implication was there. That had been the first time Manny worked on him. It'd also almost been the death, true death of he and his shellan. He did have a shitty way of saying and doing things. When he could hear Manny leaving, pretty sure he'd at least said 'Thanks' he looked over at Jane.

"We're alright. Aren't we?" His eyes stung while he searched hers.

And his chest ached. Neither had anything to do with what'd just gone down. The wait for an answer streached on for hours. Way longer than anything else had taken during this night.
