He and Phury returned from another uneventful patrol. Seemed things were constantly quiet around. While Phury beat boots fast back to Cormia, he went into the kitchen to think a moment. It wasn't ever a good sign when things were quiet like this. Not that he wanted to spend a lot of time filling out paperwork for Tohrment. Just, at least the normal amount of activity would do.
Leaned against a far wall, the bustle of doggen relatively low this time of night. Wasn't paying any attention to them at all. Everything was focused on what could make all the slayers lay low like they were. His dagger was on the last twist to get the skin off, when he sensed Bella coming in. Straightened up, then his eyes went to the door waiting for her to come through.

Sensing Zsadists return, she glanced over to where Nalla was coloring and got up to see if he was just stopping in for something or if he was home for the night.
Walking out of the entertainment room, she headed into the kitchen and smiled when she saw him standing there. "Hey, back so soon?"

"Hi, Daddy!" she waved from her little purple table. "I'm drawing a pony for you so you can hang it on your office wall" giggled went back to work, stucking her tongue out in concentration.

Wanted to just watch her for a while, but she saw him. Pushed off the wall, tossed the peel into the trash as he walked over to her.
"Yeah, it's been uneventful. Not even knocking on wood, honestly makes me nervous." Leaned down to kiss her, then, "So, done for a few days."
Heard Nalla from the living room, then took Bella's hand to stroll over to her. Knelt down, taking a good look at the drawings, then smiled at his little girl.
"They are beautiful Princess. Daddy's office?" Please say Tohrment hadn't been gone so long she was talking about the TC.
Wasn't covering up the fact that he was a little tense. More likely than not he'd have to spend some time in the gym, think of other ways to get rid of excess energy.

Laughed a little and glanced back as Nalla said hi, answering his question. "A few days?" Sensing his tension, she looked at him curiously as he led them back to where Nalla was coloring. "As in you have a few days off?"

"I was watching TV with Lassiter and there was a funny program and they said all daddies have an office, so I decide to make drawings for your office so you always remember me" she smiled and then went back to colouring, letting her Mahmen and Daddy talk in peace.

"Thats great Nalla, they are beautiful." Picked one up, showing it to Bella before folding it to put in his pocket.
Carefully ran his palm along her hair, missing the ribbon tied in it, then gave her a kiss on her forehead. On a long breath turned back to Bella.
"That's right. It's almost as if they've all just vanished. Patrols are being cut down. We're still out there, but fact is? Nothing's doing." Finally stood, wrapped his arm around Bella's waist then whispered. "I don't like it. V hasn't seen anything though so.." Just shrugged.

Glanced down to Nalla then back up to him. "Maybe you should just enjoy the time off then and not question it? I'm sure Nalla would liked spending some time with you." Glanced at her once again. "Wouldn't you?" Then turned back to him. "And I would too."

She tilted her head into his touch, because she loved when her daddy played with her hair. It made her half sleepy, half happy. She nodded, energically, at her Mahmen's suggestion.
"Uhuh. We can paint our nails, and our hair and we can ride my pony, and then we can make cookies or... ooooh, Daddy can teach me to fight like him, and kick butt!"

Had been just passively listening to first Bella then Nalla when that last sunk in. Good thing there wasn't anything in his mouth, he would have likely choked.
"Spending time, sounds great. How about instead of fighting, we.. ah.." Ran his hand over his skull trim, "..well what about your pony? Have you been riding with Auntie Payne yet?" No, not fighting. Not his little girl. Worst. Nightmare.
Well besides the time questions would come. Maybe a tie.

She had to stifle a laugh at the expression on his face at Nalla asking for him to teach her how to fight. But she had to agree, it wasn't anything she was in a hurry to have her young learn to do. Just yet, at least. Looked between them both. "Uh, I'm sure we can figure out something fun to do."

Agreed, one thousand percent. So why he'd suggested Payne was a mystery. If ever there was a female who would be more than happy to go against a fathers wishes, it was Payne. While Nalla's head started to droop to the table, he released Bella and knelt again.
"Tomorrow though. You look tired Princess." Picked her up, to no protest at all then held her in a way he could still run fingers through her hair. Almost on cue her eyes started to close, lips turning up in a smile.
The three of them went upstairs, he couldn't help giving Bella the 'look' a few times. There were things he could think of around her that would take the edge off. As he carefully tucked Nalla in, he was sure he caught the same look back. So when he stood, then waited for Bella to kiss Nalla goodnight, it was his turn.
Wrapped both arms around her, walking them back to their room while kissing her lips then neck then lips again. Was more than happy to close and lock the door for the night.
