Jane was sitting at Vishous's desk tapping away on the keyboard at his Four toys. After a few years of being together, he'd finally let her into his 'inner sanctum," She was ordering some books off of Amazon.com, the most recent genetics textbook, a surgical text for cardio-thoracics, and then she decided to let her fingers go wandering over to the health and beauty section. Nipple clamps. She chuckled, you really could get anything off of Amazon. Then she shook her head. That stuff was up to V to order, he had his own 'place' he ordered their toys from. She grabbed her wallet and pulled out the black Am-Ex card. After filling the info, she put the card away. Vishous wouldn't allow their credit card info to be stored on any online stores.
She heard a knock at the tunnel entrance to the pit door. Since she wasn't expecting company, she pulled up the camera image on the computer screen. It was Beth. She smiled and put the computer in sleep mode like V liked it, then went over to the door. She unlocked it, pulling the door wide open and giving Beth a wide grin. "Beth! It's so good to see you! What brings you down to my neck of the woods? Why aren't you on Wrath's lap?" Jane pulled Beth in for a hug, becoming fully corporeal.

Beth had been cooped up in the library for hours and decided that she needed to get out. Now that the manse had returned to normal after the Directrixes came in and turned the place upside down from what she had heard, Beth made up her mind to go visit with Jane and see how she was doing. They haven't talked in a while, and well Jane would give her the full story about what happened without sugar coating anything. Knocking on her door, she hears Jane get up to see who it is. With a smile she gets grabbed in a big hug "Hi Jane, I thought I would come see how you are doing since we haven't talked in a while."
They take a seat on the leather couch with a couple of glasses of water. "Jane, honestly I came here to see that you are alright. I have heard some horrible whispers about what happened while our unwelcome guests where here." Tilting my head a little, I can see the pain in her eyes without her saying a word. "why don't you tell me about it. I think getting it out will help."

Jane leaned back on the couch and grabbed the Red Sox throw that was thrown over the back of it. She put it over her legs even though she wasn't cold, she didn't really feel the heat or the cold much anymore, but the throw represented comfort to her since Vishous usually put it over the both of them when they cuddled on the couch.
"Well, you don't pull any punches. I think that's why you and I have always gotten along so well. Straight to the point." Jane took in a big breath and let it out loudly, even though she didn't need to. "you were so damn lucky Wrath kept you out of all of that, although I don't think they would have dared say anything to your face, being the Queen and all, I'm sure your ears were burning up when they were behind closed doors. They were supposed to be here to teach us the old ways, that's why Tohr invited them here. And he had good intentions. But they basically bullied everyone who was human, not 100% vampire, didn't transition into being one, had any kind of a defect, or lived an alternative lifestyle. And ripped so badly into Selena for not being the PERFECT chosen, that she was in tears. So, basically. Me, Selena, Qhuinn and Blay, Autumn, Xhex,Butch and then Tohr and V got it by proxy for being mated to us."

Beth sat there listening to everything Jane was saying about being bullied, trying not to frown. *Jane, that is absolutely awful. If I had been there, I am sure that they would have made some sort of half blood comment and then Wrath would have ripped their heads off without thinking twice about it." reaching over to touch her hand "they had absolutely had no right to talk bad about any of the brothers or shellans or chosen here. You are the best thing to ever happen to Vishous and this family. Not only did you save him but you saved my hellren as well. I don't know what would have happened if you weren't there for Wrath and I don't even want to think about it. As far as I am concerned we have a very strong family and no one could ever knock us down as long as we stand together."
She sat there and listened to all the bad things that the directix did. She wanted to run screaming to Wrath telling him to take down that nasty couple. Holding Jane's hand tighter as she listened to her talk about the blood ceremony and the bad name calling, she absolutely hurt for her sister.

Jane sat and told Beth about all of the 'Test's" that the Directx's had put them all through. The hours and hours of praying while the females faced the wall and the males kneeled on slabs of marble with salt on them, and the cutting, which Jane thought was worded entirely to dramatically.
"you know, all of the physical stuff wasn't such a big deal to me. And I'm not saying that because I'm a ghost or whatever it is I am, personally? I think I'm a half ghost, half something else. Because when I'm corporeal? I bleed, I feel pain, just like when I was alive. And that female seemed to get a peculiar joy knowing that information. But anyway...." Jane waved her hand in the air to redirect the conversation.
"What bothered me? And I HATE that it did and still does, is the way they treated me. The nasty, derogatory remarks about humans, the remark she made about how Vishous lowered himself by mating me, and that it was a sad day for the race when he did., and the sneers, the looks they gave me like I was dirt. And the fact that they used V as punishment if I didn't comply. Like they fully expected me not to because I was too stupid to understand their customs. but the very worst part of all of this Beth? was that it put even a seed of doubt in my mind of how every Brother and every shellan that was a vampire in this house felt about me because I was a filthy human. And I made Vishous feel horrible for it." Jane sniffled.

"Jane, I want you to wipe all that doubt out of your mind. You are my sister, and as much a part of the family as anyone in here. And if you ever, ever think that you are not good enough ever again I will tell Vishous to take you to the penthouse and have him beat every bad thought out of you with a paddle!" Laughing because she would probably enjoy that as much as he would. Getting serious again "I love you, Vishous loves you, Wrath loves you, everyone loves you so don't you ever think differently!."
Grabbing her in a big hug, as Beth releases Jane, she looks over her shoulder to see Vishous stroll into the Pit. Smiling up at him "Hello there Vishous, how are you this evening? Jane and I were just catching up since I haven't seen you guys in a while."

Vishous walked back to the Pit from having a meeting with Wrath, and the King was pissed. He told Wrath about what they had said and done to everyone, but he made sure that Wrath knew what had all went down with Jane. Vishous had watched Jane just crumble apart theses last few days and it was breaking him down as well, he was not about to tell Wrath that he was even starting to have problems with fighting but he was so worried about his Leelan that he wanted to see if they could take a few days off from patrol and her being in the Clinic.
But he had no Idea where they would go but he was going to get his Jane the hell out of Caldwell, for a few days even if he had to tie her up and make her go. Vishous had made it to the Pit and heard Beth talking to Jane, started to walk away to give them privacy when he heard Jane start to cry and Beth tell her that we all loved her and to never have them thoughts in her mind. He put the code in and walked in to see Beth holding Jane in a warming hug, and was telling her that she would make sure that Wrath did something to the Directx's. When Beth looked over her shoulder and smiled he was glad to see that she had come to talk to Jane to catch up. "Hello, Beth Umm Wrath would like to see you True?

Jane smiled and gave one last sniffle as she hugged Beth. She really needed to just let this whole thing go, and in truth? She wasn't sure why this had all gotten to her as bad as it had in the first place. She was a strong female who would have and should have just shrugged this stuff off. Maybe she was having a breakdown? But just knowing she had Beth and Wrath behind her made her fell better. She already knew she had Vishous in her corner. And speaking of her mate, he had silently entered the pit and greeted the two of them.
She felt the weight of those twin diamond eyes on her, like missile sights. He was on a mission. He told Beth Wrath was looking for her, and that was code for "Bye Bye Beth, I need Jane ALONE now!" Jane smiled at Beth as they separated and V came over to her and scooped her up, sliding in behind her. Jane was now sitting in V's lap on the couch. She turned her head and gave him a kiss. "Hi Pup, I missed you."

As Vishous told Beth that Wrath wanted to see her she knew it was time to go. "well I guess I better go see what my hellren wants before he starts bellowing around the manse. Jane, if you need anything ever you just need to ask Wrath or myself." She gives them both a quick hug and makes her way out of the pit. "have a good night you two" she says as she leaves to go to Wrath's office to try and calm down what was most likely a very aggravated vampire king.

As Beth left, Visjous put his hand rolled out and sat down on the leather sofa, moving Jane so that she was in his lap. he kissed Jane back and said "OK, we need to talk, I over heard what you said to Beth now i want you to talk to me" Jane was trying to look away when he grasped Jane's chin between his thumb and forefinger and brought her to his attention. "your going to answer me, no more hiding in the Clinic True?" ~sighing~
Vishous throw off the Red Sox blanket off him and Jane, then he slipped her off his lap and back on the sofa with the blanket. Moving to the Island where his Goose was he pored him some in a glass and shot it down in one long gulp, reaching into his pocket he grabbed a hand rolled and light it he took a long drag then turned around to Jane and said. "You know what I already asked Wrath it's been approved, you and me are going to take a trip to the Adirondacks. Before you say no or anything about the Clinic it's been fixed and taken care of True? You need to get the fuck out of here and well, so do I so we are leaving in two days. but before we do you have to talk to me and now feel me?"

Jane got up off of the sofa and walked up to the bar. She hated like hell that Vishous was upset over any of this, she thought they had already discussed all of it, but it seemed he wasn't satisfied with her answers. She poured herself a shot and drank it. She then took his face between her hands and planted a kiss on his lips, then looked into his eyes. Those pools of white holding an IQ higher than any genius ever known to her, but sometimes? He needed a little extra tlc.
"Ok babe,I know that I've been a miserable lump since those directx's left. I just had some doubts about my place here. I know that's unreasonable, I do. I know you love me. I know I've been accepted by everyone here. But their words, their actions, they just shook me. And that's what they meant them to do. And I know I'm not the only one they singled out." Jane put her arms around Vishous and hugged him, she put her head on his chest.
"But I'll be ok, maybe this time away thing will be a good thing, we can just be with each other and you can show me just how much you love me and I can show you the same. I love you pup." She smiled up at him.

When Jane came to where Vishous was standing and made herself a shot, he was hoping she would talk to him. Jane put her hands on his face and gave him a big kiss then said that she was truly fine, and that she was hoping that the time away would do them both some good. Vishous finished his hand rolled and took one last shot of Goose,then Picked Jane up in his arms and went to their mated room with a wicked grin on his face. " Jane, your going to be shown how much I love you In so many ways I couldn't even count the ways with my fingers and toes feel me?" With Jane laughing in his arms he kicked to door shut behind them.
