Selena was up before the shutters went up. As she was headed down the Hall of Statues toward the Grand Staircase an then the kitchen for some coffee, she was passing Rhage and Mary's room when she overheard Rhage telling Mary about meeting Chi. She had also invited him to New Orleans to a place called Sanctuary. It sounded like a place similar to the Other Side and she wanted to see it. Perhaps that was another place that had vampires of the Race, since every vampire could not possibly be just in Caldwell. Others of the Glymera had gone to their other homes. Selena wanted to do her duty by feeding others as well as the Brotherhood.
She went back to her room and loaded up her laptop that Vishous had taught her to use and she looked up New Orleans. Everything on the internet made the city look more interesting than Caldwell. She took out her plastic buying card that Phury had given her and she booked a flight. She couldn't dematerialize there since she'd never been there before, but she could demat back.
Selena dressed in some of the clothes Beth had helped her purchase online. While everyone was busy, she snuck outside the mansion and dematerialized to the Iron Mask. She had been there once before with Qhuinn and knew she could find a taxi to bring her to the airport. With her backpack with a change of clothes inside and her laptop, she went to the airport and got on a plane to New Orleans.

She sat by the bar she was helping out tonight so had on a head set. She poured a few shots for a waitress and put them on a tray. "No Rem is in the kitchen tonight trust me the boy needs to be there."
Laughed as she helped out a few more people. Pulling her hair up she kept going.

Arriving in New Orleans, Selena got a taxi and gave the driver the address of Sanctuary. She watched the city lights get brighter and brighter as she got closer to the city. The houses along Esplanade Ave were the most beautiful things she had ever seen with exception to the Mansion. The taxi stopped outside Sanctuary and she got out and looked up at the sign and smiled.
As she went to the door, she was greeted by a very large blonde haired man, who reminded her of Rhage. Who knew there were 2 such delectable looking guys on the same planet. "Hi, I'm ummm... looking for Chi?"

Hearing Dev come on the headset that someone was out front looking for her she let the other waitress know she would be right back.
She got outside and Dev pointed to the woman standing by him and she cocked an eyebrow. "Hey I'm Chi. Do I know you?" She tilted her head a bit and looked at her.

Selena stood there as he used the little earpiece thing with the little microphone like what Qhuinn had called a bluetooth for his cell phone to ask for Chi to come to the front door. When Chi got there, she noticed just how really small Chi was even compare to her.
"Hi, you don't know me, but you met my friend Rhage. I overheard him telling his mate Mary about you and this place an I decided I wanted to see it too." She smiled and bowed to Chi after telling her the reason for her visit. She could tell that Dev was different and Chi was kinda like her. Chi did have fangs like Selena's but they were mostly hidden.

She laughed and nodded. "Yea interesting guy. Great pool player though." Shook her head at the bow. "Ok that you don't need to do around here. It's nice to meet you though. You want something to drink maybe some food?"
She pointed to the bar. "I know the cook he makes some mean gumbo."

Selena smiled. "Yes Rhage is very good. We have a pool table in the mansion and Qhuinn tried teaching me but I'm afraid I'm not very good."
She followed Chi into the building and looked around taking in all the people. It was rather crowded and she could tell there were others here like her and then there were others that weren't like her. She smelled the air and at least there was no baby powder scent in the air and she sighed with relief. Selena realized coming here alone may not have been the best idea she'd ever had.
Selena went to sit at the bar. "Gumbo? What's gumbo?" Was that food? She was up to trying new things, after all most things were new to her.

Her jaw dropped and she came across the ear piece asking for some gumbo to the back table. "Gumbo is a staple here in New Orleans and the best food in the world." Walked to the back towards the table.
"I can promise as long as you're here you're safe by the way. In Sanctuary no violence hence the sign on the way in Come in peace or leave in pieces." She sat and ordered a couple waters.

Selena was hungry, she had left while everyone else was getting ready for First Meal. "Gumbo sounds good though the name doesn't give me a clue of what's in it." She sat and sipped her water as Chi went off to another table.
She had noticed the sign and giggled to herself. 'Come in peace or leave in pieces'. She thought with the size of the male, Dev at the front door, anyone to violate that statement with him looking on, well they were just insane. But what did she mean by telling me I was safe here?

"In case you're wondering most of us are of the non-human variety. This place was created and built to be a sanctuary it's not just a name." Smiled as Remi brought them two bowls.
"This handsome one along with the guy at door are a set of quads so lucky I know which is which." She took a bite of the gumbo. "I know things are different then where you are we don't have the baby powder smelling guys here, just really tall blonde guys and girls. If you're outside and see one avoid them."

When Remi came out with the gumbo Selena smiled, "Hello." As Chi explained about the quads, she looked back and forth between Remi and Dev. "I don't think I'd ever figure them out. Everyone where I'm from is kinda like Rhage. Very tall and very big. But they are warriors, keeping the Lessers, the baby powder males away from us. They are really bad news."
She spooned gumbo into her mouth. "This is very tasty. Can I take some of this with me?" She ate more an smiled. "The others that are here, what are they? I know what you and I are. Are there a lot of 'us' here in New Orleans?"

Laughed and nodded. "There are more then we let on. As for the food you bet, and any time you want more you just give us a call we can have it to you in a flash." She winked as she watched her look between Dev and Remi.
"Yea they are hard to tell at times, but I keep them straight only because one is my best friends mate the other is my boyfriend. All of them are good guys just don't upset them or they go bear." Shook her head.

Selena grinned, "now that I've been here I can dematerialize here whenever I want. Well maybe not whenever I want. I'm not supposed to be here now. I'm not really supposed to go anywhere alone." Selena leaned over the bar and whispered. "What to the vampires here do to feed? I guess that is a strange question. Where I'm from, I was made to feed the unmated males or males like Rhage and Vishous, whose mates are unable to provide them with the correct nutrients to keep them strong or to help them heal from their wounds more quickly." Selena wasn't sure why she was telling Chi these things but Rhage liked her so she must be alright.

"The bad guys here feed off souls of humans. Hence why we try to take them out before it comes to that, but it doesn't always happen." She shook her head again. "So that's what he is I wondered what the vibe was I was getting."
She sat back against the booth and looked at her. "I'm a dark hunter myself, and a down right pain in the ass to most the people who know me. It's just the way I am." She laughed. "I have to be for being so tiny. We mainly protect the innocents and such. Like your warriors as you call them."
"I know people are creepy, but any time you want to come to NOLA you just give me a buzz ok." Handed her a card with her name and number on it.

Selena tucked the card in her back pocket. "A Dark Hunter? Are all Dark Hunters vampires as well? You are tiny and though our Warriors are mostly male, we do have 2 female warriors." She finished the gumbo and put own the spoon. Reaching for the plastic buying card, she handed it to Chi. "This will pay for my meal, correct?"
"I'd love to come back and see more of the city but I may need to bring someone with me. That is if I can sneak back into the mansion without getting caught." She grinned at Chi, "and I can't believe anyone thinks you're a pain in the ass."

Pushed the card back to her. "Consider your money no good here. It's not that it wouldn't pay for anything just here we take care of each other. It's a family thing." Checked her watch.
"In a way we are same sort of deal can't go out during the day. Have to be careful on what and where we get stabbed and shit." Smirked. "I am a pain in the ass worked centuries to get that title honestly, but we all just have bad pasts and so we became what we are."

Putting the card back in her pocket, "thank you for the gumbo. Please tell Remi it was delicious. I'd better get back before I'm found missing. Now that I've been here I don't need to take a plane next time."
"I'd better let you get back to work. Thank you for the hospitality." She smiled, "and I don't think you're a pain in the ass." Selena got up from the table and went back out the front door. "Thank you Dev. I really like this place."
Selena walked out to the side of the building and dematerialize back to the garden outside of the mansion. Fritz let her back in the front door with no one the wiser that she had been gone.
