Still Learning

[Selena Chosen]

Selena decided to spend the night half between Medical Terminology and half between Anatomy and Physiology. She was going to be spending the night studying in her room but first she needed to get some coffee into her. The shutters went up as she was walking own the hallway of statues. That's when it hit her..... the scent of someone's needing. It couldn't be Layla, she'd already had hers and was with young as a result. Who was to be the next lucky ones? Wrath and Beth? Phury and Cormia? Couldn't be them, they were out of town. Butch and Marissa? No, they were all the way in the Pit. Vishous and Jane were not possible. Rhage and Mary? Did the Scribe Virgin make that even possible for Mary? Probably not. John Matthew and Xhex.... not likely. Who could it be? The answer was right in front of her face as she was passing Tohr and Autumn's room. She smiled slyly. Hopefully this would be the best thing to happen to them. She heard feet rushing across the floor as she passed the room and thought they were playing chase. She grinned and continue on to the kitchen.

Once down the Grand Staircase she entered the kitchen. She pulled Fritz to the side and whispered, "I think Autumn's in her needing." She just left it at that, not really wanting to give any details.

"Fritz, I'm going to be studying in my room tonight. Could I have my meals delivered there to me? I'd like a carafe of coffee, milk, orange juice, a ham and cheese omlette, bacon and whatever kind of muffins you have baked, blueberry, orange cranberry, banana nut. Later during the night, I'd like lasagna with garlic bread, Pepsi and another carafe of coffee. I think that should do it. Thank you. And can I have a female doggen to bring it up." She bowed to him out of habit and he smiled.

"Miss you don't bow to me. I'll have everything brought up shortly. It is my pleasure to serve you." This time he bowed.

"Oh by the way, did you have time to get the school supplies, Beth, Mary and I asked for?"

"Yes, miss I was able to get everything. I have it all packed and ready to go to the colony whenever the trip needs be made." Fritz beamed. There was nothing he loved more than serving any one of us, not matter what the task may be.

Selena was going back to her room when she heard the noise coming from Autumn and Tohr's room. She heard the snarling and smiled but jumped as whatever piece of furniture was destroyed. She felt like a voyeur outside their door though she couldn't see anything that was going on. She hurried her steps and almost ran barefoot to her room and closed herself in, locking the door.

Getting herself set up on the bed with her books and notebook, she went back to terminology, memorizing the different root words for the different body parts. she completed two more Chapters when the knock came at the door. She got up an unlocked the door to meet the doggen. It was a female doggen who brought up her tray.

"Please place the tray on the table. That will be fine." Selena walked over to the table and sat down taking the cover off her omelet and bacon. There was nothing that smelled better to her than bacon and coffee.

"Is there anything else miss? What time would you like your lasagna and garlic bread?" The doggen were so very thorough, every need was taken care of by the doggen without mistake.

"That's all thank you. I'd like the lasagna about midnight I think. Thank you. If I need anything else, I'll call or come down." She bowed as she left the room and closed the door.

Selena had her breakfast, the omelet melting in her mouth. She ate everything in sight on her tray, it all tasted so good. She followed the food with milk, juice and more coffee. It was amazing how she could eat so much and never gain an ounce. It must be her high metabolism and the fact that she lost so much when feeding the males, that she had to replace it. And on this side, she did not feed from any of the males. She always went back to the Other Side to rejuvenate. She was sure there would come a time when she would feed from a male but thought it wouldn't be until she had found her mate, if that ever happened.

Pouring a fresh cup of coffee after eating she went back to her bed and her book. Sipping her coffee between chapters she went through several more chapters when a thought occurred to her.

Selena realize that Jane would've only learned about human anatomy, after all she was a doctor long before she came to live with them in the mansion and had gotten mated to Vishous. But there was someone else whose brain she could pick..... Havers.

She picked up her cell phone and put in a call to Havers at the Clinic. His long time receptionist answered the phone. "Hello this is Selena, I'm a Chosen and I wanted to speak with Havers. I'm studying to help Doc Jane with the Clinic here in the mansion and I wondered if I could make an appointment to come and see him."

"It's a pleasure to speak with a Chosen. Havers is out of the Clinic tonight but he does have an opening tomorrow night at 8p. Is that convenient for you?" Selena could hear the excitement in her voice.

"Yes thank you, that is perfect. I'll see him and you then." She hung up the phone an went back to studying. Perhaps Havers would have some books that were geared directly to vampire anatomy, maybe even something he himself had written.
