~Young Marissa - 10 Years old~
"Mahmen?" She walked a few steps more into her parents chambers and winced as she heard her Mahmen scream. Her father had said she was to have a little brother or sister this eve and it was very important that Mahmen was well taken care of and comfortable.
She held the blanket tight and clutched it to her chest as she heard footsteps. Stopping in her tracks she wanted to retreat but her father came around the corner. "Marissa, darling, what are you doing here? You do not need to see this? Thine eyes are far too young."
Nodding she held out the blanket, "But Papa, I wanted to give Mahmen something to make her comfortable like you said." Held the pink quilt higher. "This is my favorite blanket, it always makes me more comfortable. Can..can you give it to her?"
He set his mouth in a line and nodded taking the blanket. Holding a hand out he caressed her face and held her eyes. "As soon as I can, she shall have it. Now, Marissa please go wait down stairs in the main room with the doggen until we are finished."
Her eyes went wide and turned dashing out of the room. Her skirts and petticoats bouncing along as her pink satin shoes softly padded down the hall. She reached the main room. The doggen were all bustling about with preparations. She just wanted to know what the young would look like. Would he or she have her blonde curls? What color eyes? Would they look like Mahmen or their sire? It was all very exciting.
She was only 10 years old but she knew well enough that having a young was very hard on a female vampire. The physician had said the pregnancy went well, but the birth could go either way. She couldn't help when she eavesdropped on Mahmen's visits with the physician. She wanted to know if everything was going to be all right.
It had been about 2 hours when a doggen came down the grand staircase and greeted Marissa with a smile. "Marissa you can come meet your new brother."
She smiled and her hands went to her mouth, "I have a brother?" Throwing her arms around the doggens waist she squeezed tight, let go, and bounded upstairs in a very fast and unladylike manner.
She threw open the doors and ran into where her Mahmen was sitting up on the bed with a small bundle in her arms. Her own blanket spread nicely over her lap. She smiled and looked to her father and saw his cravat was undone and his neck had puncture wounds healing over.
He smiled at her and led her to the bed, "Marissa, meet your brother...Havers."
